1st Customer Review : No more paper bags!
I bought a pair of these at a local "going out of business sale" thinking it might be money wasted. I was wrong....for years I've baked potatoes in the microwave in a paper bag (the cleaning lady at the office told me about that method) but the first time I used the Nordic Ware Potato Cooker it worked better! The potatoes cook faster and do not dry out or become rubbery as somtimes happens in the microwave.

I like it so well that I carry one with me when I travel, and if I wish I can bake perfect potatoes in my hotel room microwave. Amazon's price is more than double what I paid but this is the only place I've found them and I'm here to buy more while they're still available. Too many good products like this disappear prematurely.

P.S. - I haven't tried to use multiple cookers in the microwave oven simultaneously....don't know how that would turn out. Also, the idea of eating an ice cream sundae out of one of these seems a little wierd to me....it's a potato...

2nd Customer Review : wasted money
A potato cooked in this is no different than a potato just laid in the microwave. It was not faster and did not taste any better. Don't waste your money buying a little dish for your potato to sit in.
3rd Customer Review : These are handy devices
These are handy devices for cooking a couple of potatoes in the microwave. They stack up nicely. Don't slice the potatoes on them as the plastic scratches. You just toss them in the dishwasher. I would recommend this product.

1st Customer Review : gotta get this
I have 6 of these. Why? I used them for making individual pudding desserts, store leftovers that are just countless to name, I put my cereal in it to take to work and add milk to it later. I will put my leftover supper in it to take to work the next day and microwave at lunch. GOTTA TAKE THAT LID OFF BEFORE MICROWAVE. Cover with papertowel. Comes with lids that are airtight and will not leak if tipped over. Pyrex glass is what every home should have.

2nd Customer Review : Perfect for Lunches at Work
My wife and I love to take lunches to work in these dishes. They work great in the microwave--unlike the phony knockoffs from Anchor that you can get at Wal-Mart. Pyrex is the real deal. You can microwave the bowls and lids from a frozen state with no problems at all. Don't try that with the Anchor version of this bowl. The Anchor lids get all deformed in the microwave (even though they are supposedly microwavable). You cannot go wrong with Pyrex.
3rd Customer Review : Great containers.
I must admit, I LOVE Pyrex. I generally do not like storing food in plastic containers so these are great. The Pyrex is sturdy, thick, resistant to chipping, etc. The lids are plastic so they fit snugly, keeping leftovers fresh and getting lunches to work unspilled. These come in a variety of sizes; I find the 2-cup ones good for leftovers and lunches. I also own some of the 1-cup ones and 4-cup ones.

1st Customer Review : Plastic lids didn't fit our dishes
I just bought this set of CorningWare and to our dissapointment, the plastic covers were too small for both of the dishes. With a lot of effort - we were able to get one of the lids to fit, but there is no hope with the other one. It's unfortunate, because I thought the lids would come in handy for storing leftovers. Aside from the problem with the plastic lids - Corningware has continued to provide good quality dishware.

2nd Customer Review : Glass lids perfect for microwave steam rice
These bowls, when used with the glass lids, are favorites for steam cooking in the microwave. They can even transform parboiled rice (like Uncle Ben's) into good tasting rice, if given enough boiling and steaming time in the microwave. Cooking in these bowls seems to take a little longer time in the microwave, compared to thinner bowls.

The bowls are thick, heavy stoneware, and somewhat break-resistant, but not as tough as your grandparent's Corningware. These are not made from the original Corningware materials that were used decades ago.

These bowls and glass lids are OK for conventional oven casseroles; and microwave use, and dishwasher and refrigerator. Of course the plastic lid cannot go in a regular oven. OK on top rack of dishwasher.

No handles at the sides of bowls. The top rim is slightly flared, but not enough to grasp as a handle. That is an advantage when nesting bowls for storage. On the other hand, it is tricky to grasp the hot...

Love this series of product. Arrived well protected. Despite concerns from previous reviews about storage lids-lids DO fit. Got these because one or both of these will fit in microwave.
