1st Customer Review : Great microwave
This is a great microwave. It works great and it looks beautiful. I actually purchased mine online from walmart, but I order from amazon alot and wanted to put my review here for all of you. I've had mine almost 2 months now. It has a 3 prong grounding plug. It's 900 watts and heats things up a lot faster than my other microwave, so I'm still getting use to that. I'm going to try and address everything I see people asking questions about. First off, when you hit a number, for example 2, it will automatically start cooking 2 minutes. You can press the start button and add 30 seconds. If you want a specific time, for example 3 minutes and 45 seconds, you can press the power button, then the numbers, 3,4, and 5. It will start cooking 3 min. 45 secs. It has a lot of buttons for specific items like popcorn, pizza, dinner plate, defrost, etc. It has a normal hum when running. It has a turntable. The clock is displayed in green. It beeps 5 times, not super loud but loud enough, then stops...

2nd Customer Review : Better than expected
I purchased the Danby as a gift for my nephew who has a small apartment. I selected it mainly due to the price (less than 60 bucks at walmart) and the fact that it takes up little counter space. Although I was not expecting much in terms of features, I've been really impressed with this.

It offers a wide range of programming features. There are 6 one-touch buttons so you can set 1 to 6 minutes of cooking time with one key press. It also has an "add 30 seconds" feature that can be used at start-up or while the microwave is already running. There are also a host of timing options for cooking and defrosting.

It looks really nice - much better than I was expecting. Pretty decent stainless steel trim on the front and the handle, and a black casing. Looks like it cost a lot more. Easy to clean, and the handle keeps fingerprints away from the front. One difference from the picture -- the key pad is all black, and not white and black as in the photo.

3rd Customer Review : Not bad
Not many reviews about this Danby unit. I replaced another 900 watt Hamilton Beach unit with this one. The main reason was the H-B unit light was off when the door was opened. Aside from that it was a good unit. I gave it away.
This Danby does have the interior light on when you open the door. This makes it easier to remove hot beverages without fumbling and spills. It is somewhat louder than the old one. It makes a humming noise when running. All make some noise, but this is almost annoying.

At 900 watts you can expect moderate cook times. The table turns slower than others. The old one made one revolution in 10 seconds. This one takes about 13+ seconds. No big deal, but when heating a cup of coffee, the handle might be in the rear of the oven when finished heating. In other words, it was easier to use multiples of 10 (like 60 seconds) and have the handle of a cup right there in front.

Aside from that it runs fine. No comment on quality since it too new to...

1st Customer Review : I am impressed favorably
We had a Sharp Microwave Carousel II but after 25 years it gave up the ghost. This is our replacement, same size but more wattage 1200 vs. 700. The buttons are easy to use and, contrary to another review, the door opens easily. There are several new features that we are anxious to try but even without them we are well pleased with both the workmanship, cost and seller.

2nd Customer Review : Have it wall mounted using the Sharp RK-51 trim kit
I purchased this a week ago to replace 19 yr old Sharp which I had wall mounted with the Sharp custome trim kit. I have also purchased the RK-51 trim kit which you can get to go with this unit so I would have a finished wall install like my older unit. I did not purchase the microwave through Amazon, but I did purchase the trim kit through Amazon. One of my major decisions for purchasing this unit was the ability to get the mating trim kit to complete the finished, built-in wall installation. Also, this microwave and the trim RK-51 trim kit were the same dimensions so it fit my existing cabinet wall opening perfectly. If you're interested in details of the trim kit and my experience installing it, then you might look for the review I've posted for the RK-51 trim kit.

Many aspects of this microwave are very similar to the one we replaced, so learning how to use it has been no big deal. I have not experienced any of the issues with door latch sticking as mentioned by...
3rd Customer Review : Has it's quirks but 10 years and it still works!
My husband and I received this microwave as a wedding present back in 2002. It was very large for the time, powerful, and it is nice that after all these years, it would still pass for a top of the line model. Yes the door sticks which can be annoying, but every push button appliance I've ever owned had the same issue over time. Springs get worn out, particularly with little kids and impatient husbands constantly banging both the release and the door itself. Our display also doesn't show numbers anymore, but maybe because we have moved five times and it always seems to get bumped and scratched. The buttons themselves still work and it microwaves beautifully ten years later. I'm reluctant to replace since it still works great, but we recently redid the kitchen with all stainless steel, so the black doesn't fit any longer. It seems like with a lot of the top brands and models, that consistent quality is a real issue. Some people get wonderful machines that last years while...

1st Customer Review : NO PROBLEMS
Not an objective review from the previous reviewer. That was an apparent "sick puppy" to begin with. It's obvious that the unit was not new from the get go or it still would have been under factory warranty.

Mine is now three years old. It looks spotless (thanks to me), and all functions perform perfectly. Only gripe is the preheat time for cooking in convection mode. Takes about 10 minutes to heat to 425-450 degrees. Not a deal breaker.

2nd Customer Review : This was a lifesaver
I just moved to a new house, and this one did not have a microwave. I browsed the local market and found none of the models available had a handle on the door to open it. Everyone had a button to press instead. This was exactly what I was looking for and am very happy with my purchase. The size is perfect.
3rd Customer Review : Broke down the first month
I was familiar with this product because I purchased one from SEARS for my office. It worked great. I loved the fact that it's both a convection oven and a microwave. I tried to save a few dollars and bargain shop. I ordered the next one from Amazon - BAD IDEA. Things did not work out so good. It worked for about a month and then it would no longer heat food. I contacted the vendor and they told me there was nothing they could do. They gave me the number to Kenmore. Kenmore is coming to look at it and it will cost me around $130 JUST TO LOOK AT IT - it is not under warranty (although the vendor said it was new????????????????). $130 is about the amount I "saved" ordering it from the vendor on Amazon. I should have got it from SEARS. ):
