1st Customer Review : Finally a microwave poacher that works!
I have tried a number of microwave egg poachers and they all make a mess and don't work very well. This one is exactly what I wanted. It is easy to clean, does not make a mess in the microwave, and cooks the eggs just how I like them. With an 1100 watt microwave at 50 percent power for two minutes you will get poached eggs with a slightly runny yolk. Do not add water to the cups and there is no need to pierce the yolk. The eggs slide right out. No fuss...no mess.

1st Customer Review : Never an egg fail!
We now have both the single and the double Trudeau egg poacher. Having used several other microwave poachers, I can say that not only is the Trudeau design easy to use and clean up, but that it is the ONLY one that has NEVER had an "egg fail"--that is, when despite plenty of fork-stabs to the yolk to prevent it from happening, the egg literally explodes in the microwave, resulting in a horrid mess to clean up. Poached eggs made in the microwave are so much faster than using a pan and boiling water. Try it!!

2nd Customer Review : egg cooker cooks good, easy to clean
This egg cooker works well and is pretty easy to clean. About 50 seconds on full power cooks a large egg just right in my microwave oven. If you are looking for a single egg cooker this one works well. Just remember to break the yoke before you cook it.

1st Customer Review : perfect poached eggs every single time
a little butter, teaspoon of water, power 80, carefully fork each yolk so it doesn't run out or get too hard in the middle, 2 minutes.. perfect every time :-) So glad to own this item. Poached eggs on the stovetop takes entirely too long.

2nd Customer Review : Egg poacher
Product was a disapointment for this price range. Area for eggs is to small, they tend to spill over the side when putting in microwave. I put it on a paper plate, being made of silicone it's not to stable. It cooks unevenly at times, one side will cook more then the other. It's not easy to clean, even after soaking. I always seem to miss a spot no matter how hard I scrub it. It's better then some of the cheaper ones, but I would not have bought it knowing of these problems.

I am really glad I discovered this kitchen accessory. And it makes poached eggs much better than the long, stovetop way.

But you have to be careful. The first time I used it, and followed the microwave directions for the double egg poacher, which were to cook at medium power for approximately 30-45 seconds, the middle of the eggs were very runny at the end. When I cooked them longer, then they were curdled.

I almost tossed this gadget out, but then thougt to myself: My microwave doesn't get terribly hot. Perhaps if I increase the medium power setting to 60, keeping the same time setting of 45 seconds, the eggs will cook correctly. And they did. In fact, perfectly! So it is wonderful not to have the leftover dishes and to go through the whole procedure of poaching eggs when it is simplified with even better results with this accessory. But I repeat you may have to experiment to find the right time/power setting for your particular microwave.

Here's a nifty little gadget. It's a microwave egg poacher. I found it in a nearby grocery store hanging on a small display near, you guessed it, the eggs. It's made out of a tough, microwave-safe plastic and has two little cups. It will work with either one or two eggs. You open it, put a little water in the cup, crack an egg and add it to one or each side. You can break the yoke or leave it whole as you like. Then close the container and put the eggs in the microwave. It suggests two minutes, and that's way too long for my oven, but timing is a matter of personal calibration that you'll get used to. And there you have it: two poached eggs. Simple. Easy. Tasty and without frying. My eggs have had a tendency to stick somewhat and that's a bit annoying. You can clean the poacher in the upper level of the dishwasher, if you like.

I have used other microwave egg poachers. This one is better - has room for the eggs to expand and easier to clean. My mom needed one to have eggs in a hotel with a Microwave only. Using extra large eggs (no problem with overfilling), I sprayed the containers with non-stick spray, broke the eggs, covered the container, and placed the container in the microwave. I cooked them 1 minute on high and had perfect poached eggs for her.

Unlike other poachers, I did not need to pierce the yolk, nor add water. The design, with a clear lid allows one to see how done the eggs are, so you can stop it if they get too done. The extra large area ensures the container does not pop open during the cooking process.
