2nd Customer Review : Does a fair job
The filter does a fair job in filtering the fumes from cooking. When we used to cook without a filter, the whole house used to smell like food. Now it has reduced by a decent amount. Not 100% effective, but still does a decent job.

A great Amazon.com solution for a GE JX81A charcoal filter.
Oddly, when I received my filter it was encased in clear plastic with a completely different part number and physical dimension description. I thought they had shipped me the wrong part. It was the correct part with a wrong label.
Installation tip: Install mesh side up, charcoal side down.
